Thailand is opening now, and we would like to share some of the challenges Thailand importers will face now when bringing products on Thai market.
Newly appointed TISI secretary-general Mr. Bunchong Sugreetha has promised to improve the quality of TISI to make Thai consumers to get top quality of products. We expect tougher regulation for ensuring imported products quality and compliance.
New Thai NSW system is now linked with a customs and customs is enforcing “open-and-check” policy to ensure proper licensing and the quality of the product that imported to Thailand.
TISI implemented new e-License system to import the industrial products for sale in Thailand. It is supposed to simplify application process, however, new system involves 8 steps compared to 3 steps in the past and we expect this process to become more challenging for importers. You could see new application process on our sample page.
Thailand implemented temporary factory licenses due to COVID-19 lockdown in many countries, we expect licensing agencies will require all manufacturing facilities abroad to obtain permanent licenses, since most countries are getting opened for inspection.
Last, but not least, TIS mark now required to be shown with the printed QR code linked to e-License quality control system.
